Feeling Lost and Stuck? You’re Not Alone

Have you ever found yourself questioning your career path, wondering how you ended up here? Maybe you’ve spent years chasing what seemed like the “right” choice—whether it’s PA school, corporate life, or another “safe” option—only to feel stuck, drained, or unfulfilled. I’ve been there, and I know how scary it is to admit: this isn’t working.

The Compass Method was born out of my own career identity crisis, a pivotal moment that forced me to seek clarity and alignment in my life. During PA school, I found myself surrounded by brilliant classmates who, like me, felt unsure if we were on the right path.

Through mentoring pre-PA students and conversations with fellow classmates and recent graduates, I realized how common these doubts are. Many of us were struggling to find an authentic career path that truly aligned with our values and strengths.

I’ve created a free guide to help you start navigating your career with clarity and purpose. Download ‘The Compass Method Starter Guide to begin your journey today.

That insight, combined with years of personal reflection, trial, and error, led me to create a career planning framework that not only changed my life but now helps others transform theirs.

The Problem: Why Most Career Plans Fail

Most of us make career decisions based on external pressures:

  • The need for financial stability.

  • The fear of running out of time.

  • What we think success looks like.

The problem? These decisions rarely align with our inner truth—our values, strengths, and purpose.

When we fail to connect our decisions to our authentic selves, we not only lose our sense of direction but also struggle with overcoming career doubt. This lack of clarity can make even the best opportunities feel like a burden, preventing both career success and the personal growth needed to thrive.

That’s why clarity isn’t just a luxury—it’s a necessity. The Compass Method helps you find your true north by addressing the root causes of career misalignment and giving you the tools to navigate your career transition with confidence.

The Four Directions of the Compass Method

  1. Vision: Imagining Your Ideal Future

Every great journey starts with a vision.

  • What roles do you see yourself stepping into?

  • What impact do you want to make?

  • How do you want to feel every day?

Here’s the secret: clarity comes from specificity. It’s not enough to say, “I want to be happy” or “I want to help people.” What does that look like in practice? Do you see yourself mentoring others, leading a team, or creating something new?

The Vision stage is about creating a purpose-driven career by identifying what fulfillment looks like for you. It’s about uncovering your unique priorities and defining what success means on your terms.

My free guide includes reflective questions and exercises to help you create a clear vision for your future. Download it here.

  1. Plan: Building a Practical Path Forward

Vision without a plan is just a dream. In this step, we reverse-engineer your ideal life into achievable steps.

  • What skills or education do you need?

  • What financial or logistical challenges need solving?

  • How can you create a roadmap that’s realistic but still aligned with your vision?

The Plan phase bridges the gap between dreaming and doing. This step ensures your career transformation is both practical and sustainable.

  1. Rewrite: Letting Go of Old Stories

This is where the inner work happens. For many, the hardest part of transformation isn’t starting something new; it’s letting go of the beliefs and patterns holding you back.

  • Are you pursuing this career to prove your worth?

  • Do you carry stories about failure or fear that keep you playing small?

  • How can you rewrite these narratives into something empowering?

In my own journey, I had to confront my fear of not being “enough.” It wasn’t until I rewrote that story that I felt free to pursue a career that truly aligned with my purpose.

By rewriting your story, you create space for personal growth and develop the confidence to pursue a career that feels aligned and fulfilling. It’s about doing the inner work to overcome career doubt and embrace what’s truly possible for you. The Rewrite stage is key to creating an authentic career path rooted in your own truth.

Execute: Turning Clarity into Action

This is where many people freeze: they wait for confidence to take action. But clarity is what gives you the confidence to move forward. In this step, you’ll learn how to:

  • Take small, aligned steps every day.

  • Adjust as you learn (without throwing away the plan).

  • Build momentum that keeps you moving toward your vision.

The Execute phase ensures you take consistent, aligned action, moving closer to your career goals and the personal growth needed to sustain them. Execution isn’t about perfection; it’s about progress.

This stage connects the dots between holistic career planning and tangible action, empowering you to merge personal growth with actionable steps that lead to career success.

Why the Compass Method Works

Unlike generic career advice, the Compass Method is rooted in radical honesty—because truth is the magnetic core that holds everything together. Just like a compass relies on a magnetic pull to guide its direction, your inner truth is what grounds and aligns you on your journey.

The Compass Method forces you to dig deep, confront uncomfortable truths, and focus on what’s real—not what others expect from you or what you’ve been conditioned to believe.

It’s also holistic, addressing both the practical and emotional aspects of career transformation. This balance ensures you’re not just planning for your next role but crafting a foundation for long-term personal growth and career success. The Compass Method provides the clarity and confidence needed to overcome career doubt and pursue an aligned, fulfilling path.

This framework has helped me not only create an aligned career but also step into a role that feels purposeful and authentic. It’s the same process I use with my clients to help them create clarity and professional fulfillment without the fear of making costly mistakes.
